Welcome to Dennis Anyone, a podcast about making things up and making things happen. I love to talk to creative types about what they do and how they do it. Hope you enjoy my conversations as much as I do. - Dennis H.

Dennis visits the Valley Village home of his dog park buddy, actor Jack McGee who leaves LA in a few weeks to go to New York where he will be appearing in his first Broadway play, The Iceman Cometh starring Denzel Washington. Jack talks about the out-of-nowhere audition that came his way when he happened to be on the east coast, what he's doing to prepare and being "stunned, elated, thrilled and petrified at the same time." He also talks about his long career in film and television, from playing Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale's father in "The Fighter" to starring on the sitcom "The McCarthys" with Laurie Metcalf to playing a fire chief who comes to terms with his gay son on "Rescue Me" with Denis Leary. Dennis also has to know about "Coyote Ugly," "Basic Instinct," "Cool as Ice" and "Showgirls." Jack also talks about getting into acting in his 30's while working as a fireman, the Frosted Mini Wheats commercial that got him recognized on the street. He also talks about getting sober 23 years ago, how that affected his acting career and how he'll draw from his experience to play a drunk in the play. Other topics include: meeting his wife and proposing 16 days later, why the role in "Rescue Me" was so meaningful for him, growing up in the Bronx as the youngest of 8 kids, how he still gets recognized for three lines on "Seinfeld," singing and bonding with New Kid on the Block Joey McIntyre on "The McCarthys," doing a nude scene with Nicole Kidman on "Far and Away," the sweet thing Brad Pitt did for him on "Moneyball," picking "Cool as Ice" with Vanilla Ice over "Parenthood," his "love affair" with Roger Moore, playing Charles Durning's son, his obsession with James Cagney and the kind of role he'd love to play sometime.
